Sep 03, 2012 (newstodate): Jet Star, a new freighter carrier based in Moldova, is now in the air.
The carrier has launched operations with its first aircraft, a Boeing 747-200F formerly operated by the Armenian cargo carrier Ark Airways, that will be offered in the market for UN missions and relief operations.
Behind the new carrier are a Turkish leasing company Nodic Cargo, and a Moldova airport operator.
The Turkish partner is also interested in supporting the development of regional airports in Moldova, such as Marculesti and Balti, aiming at building up one of them as a future air cargo hub
