Sep 06, 2012 (newstodate): Danish provider of de-icing and anti-icing equipment, Vestergaard is a key provider in the winter preparations at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport.
By November-December 2012, the airport's de-icing fleet of 24 vehicles will be reinforced with four additional Elephant Beta de-icing vehicles manufactured and delivered by Vestergaard.
The equipment will be used to de-icing of the aircraft with engines running.
This technology has already proved itself at airports in Canada, USA and Europe, and Domodedovo Airport is the first in Russia to adapt and implement this method.
The technology was tested in February 2012, and Domodedovo Airport will be using two dedicated sites located at the ends of runway No. 1. Each of the two sites can service two aircraft simultaneously.
By the next autumn-winter season, the airport will reach full production capacity with ability to handle three times more aircraft at each site.
