Sep 24, 2012 (newstodate): New in the air will be the Romanian carrier Atom Airways, planning operations to start in September.
The carrier, to be based at Bucharest Otopeni Henri Coanda International Airport, will operate a Boeing 767-300ER aircraft offering direct flights between the USA and Afghanistan via Bucharest, serving both the passenger and airfreight markets.
Behind the new airline are US investors, and Atom Airways pledges to offer better service and shorter total transport time, compared to competing options through Dubai.
A unique feature is that Atom Airways will restrict its business to comprise only companies authorized through its own scheme.
