Sep 11, 2012 (newstodate): The Belarus airline Belavia is preparing for delivery of the first of its two Embraer 175 aircraft, due later this month from the factory where a delegation is now concluding the delivery process.
The two aircraft will be operated on a leasing agreement with Air Lease Corporation, and will be delivered in September and October, 2012.
From November 2012, the aircraft will be used on most flights from Minsk to London, Milan, Prague, Istanbul, St-Petersburg, Baku, Yerevan, Paris, and Rome.
In 2013, Belavia will also receive one Embraer 190, to replace some of the operations by the company's Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
During January-August 2012, Belavia lifted a total of 1,073 tonnes of cargo and mail - an increase by 7.7 percent, y-o-y, while passenger volumes were up 21.6 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 884,831.
