Sep 05, 2012 (newstodate): The Belarus national carrier Belavia is reporting growth in cargo volumes in 2012.
In August the carrier transported a total of 123 tonnes of cargo and mail - up 4.8 percent, y-o-y.
During January-August 2012, Belavia lifted a total of 1,073 tonnes of cargo and mail - an increase by 7.7 percent, y-o-y.
Passenger volumes are also rising; the carrier now expects to carry its 1-millionth passenger in September, compared to late December in 2012.
During the first eight months of this year, a total of 884,831 passenger were carried, an increase by 21.6 percent, y-o-y, carried on the airline's 20 aircraft.
In December 2011 Belavia signed up for delivery of two Embraer 175 aircraft, to be delivered in September and October 2012 on a leasing agreement with Air Lease Corporation.
