Sep 26, 2012 (newstodate): In Sweden, only two IATA forwarding companies emerged without loss in volumes in August 2012, compared to last year.
The exceptions were #6 on the CASS Top-10 list, Agility with an increase in volumes by 39.5 percent, y-o-y, to 196 tonnes, and #8, Expeditors, up 9.6 percent to 153 tonnes.
All others shared in the general decline in the market, including the leading company with 27.5 percent of the total market, DHL Global Forwarding, down 6.2 percent to 2,068 tonnes, and #2, Geodis Wilson, down 18.2 percent to 1,675 tonnes.
Panalpina came third with 674 tonnes, down 32.3, Kuehne & Nagel was rated #4 with 579 tonnes, down 14.2 percent, and #4 was Schenker with 451 tonnes, also down 14.1 percent, y-o-y.
16.7 percent of the Swedish IATA forwarders' volume was generated by "others", totaling 1,245 tonnes and down 20.2 percent.
Counted together, the IATA forwarders in Sweden generated a total of 7,496 tonnes of cargo in August 2012, down 15.8 percent, y-o-y.
