Aug 24, 2012 (newstodate): Swedish IATA cargo figures for July 2012 did not signal a positive trend after a sustained downward trend throughout the year.
A total of 7,566 tonnes of IATA export airfreight was lifted out of the country, which was down 30.6 percent compared to July 2011.
This comparison of volumes is, as was the case also in June 2012, blurred by the extraordinary high loads in 2011 of Hganes exports of metal powder carried by several airlines, and a fairer picture may emerge from statistics for the coming months.
But - a decline in the Swedish airfreight market is a fact anyhow.
In July 2012, SAS Cargo topped the Top-10 list with 950 tonnes of cargo, but down 38.5 percent, y-o-y, followed by Finnair that lifted 762 tonnes and dropping 17.8 percent.
Third in the market was Lufthansa Cargo with 721 tonnes and down 54.6 percent, while KLM Cargo came 4th with 597 tonnes, down 47.8 percent.
#5 was Air China, up 16.5 tonnes to 560 tonnes.
