Aug 14, 2012 (newstodate): Plans are emerging for reconstruction of Ternopil Airport, in Ukraine.
Lack of adequate infrastructure has brought business at the airport to a low, but a plan covering 2012-13 comprises a series of efforts to revive business at the airport, including international flights.
In the plans are repair and reconstruction of airport facilities and terminals, acquisition of new technical equipment, airfield lighting systems, vehicles for fire and rescue services and other pertinent infrastructure.
The plans also envisages the development of the airport as part of a larger cargo and logistics hub.
The airport has one 2,300 concrete runway, planned to be extended by another 600m.
