Aug 21, 2012 (newstodate): Established in 2009, the Latvian freight forwarding company and service provider Axia Logistics is still recording growth in volumes.
-Business is growing, but on a moderate scale, says Dzintars Zveja, owner and CEO of the company.
-The market is not exactly booming in Latvia, but anyway the first half of this year has been over-all satisfying and securing our position in the market.
-Our longer-term plans still envisages an expansion with new offices to gain access to the neighboring markets of Estonia and Lithuania, but it is certainly not on the immediate agenda.
-In contrast to the larger forwarding companies in Latvia, most of our shipments are actually flown out of Riga, primarily by Lufthansa, airBaltic and not least Finnair, and the volumes on these carriers are growing. We are still in the aftermath of the slack summer season, but traffic is slowly building up again, and I expect our full-year performance to prove that we have carved a niche, says Mr Zveja.
