Aug 08, 2012 (newstodate): In effect since August 1, 2012, Estonian Air has signed a contract with Paris-based air cargo management company Concorde Aviation concerning the carrier's future air cargo set-up.
Under the contract, Estonian Air is outsourcing its management of the air cargo business to Concorde Aviation that will now undertake a comprehensive analysis of Estonian Air's Cargo Division and the entire setup in the various markets to ensure full GSA coverage and sales efficiency.
Through the new cooperation, Estonian Air also hopes to grow its cooperation with other airlines for transfer of cargo shipments beyond its own network.
Set up in 2010, Concorde Aviation is owned and managed by Alexander Wirth as President & CEO.
-We are basically a cargo management consultancy that takes over all
issues pertaining to a regional carrier's airfreight business including sales network, cargo handling contracts, interline agreements, and e.g. IOSA certification.
-We provide a full-scale airfreight outsourcing solution, but we are not ourselves engaged in cargo sales, sub-contracting this to GSA providers, says Mr Wirth.
