Aug 21, 2012 (newstodate): The only Nordic market to show positive growth in IATA export cargo volumes in July 2012 was Norway, increasing its export loads by 11.2 percent, y-o-y.
The Norwegian market was thus continuing its unbroken string of monthly increases all through the year, in stark contrast to the other Nordic markets dominated by insignificant growth or outright decline in volumes.
A total of 8,575 tonnes of export cargo was carried on IATA carrier in July 2012, with Finnair topping the list with 1,281 tonnes, up 19.6 percent, y-o-y.
Second came Korean Air Lines with 1,110 tonnes, up 5.4 percent, followed by KLM Cargo with 995 tonnes and up 10.9 percent, and Lufthansa Cargo with 783 tonnes, up 40.2 percent, y-o-y.
Qatar Airways was down 13 percent to 706 tonnes, while Emirates trebled its loads in July 2012 to 675 tonnes.
The Scandinavian carrier SAS managed to fetch 526 tonnes, but volumes were thus down by 4.7 percent, y-o-y.
