Aug 06, 2012 (newstodate): The Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines is building up its presence in Eastern Europe with the opening of new routes.
So far the carrier has announced its decision to start operations from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Kiev in Ukraine and to Batumi in Georgia.
New on the horizon are also plans to start operations from this winter's schedule to Belgrade in Serbia, pending approval from the government.
The entry of Pegasus Airlines on the route to Serbia will increase competition as the route is already served by both JAT and Turkish Airlines that are, however, both operating into Istanbul Ataturk Airport.
