Aug 13, 2012 (newstodate): Airfreight volumes continue to perform modestly at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport.
A total of 419 tonnes of cargo and mail passed the airport in July 2012, which was drop by 10.3 percent, y-o-y.
Totals in included 352 tonnes of cargo and 67 tonnes of mail which was down one percent, y-o-y, in cargo but down 40 percent in mail.
For January-July 2012, the airport reports a total of 3,319 tonnes - down 1.2 percent, y-o-y, including 2,695 tonnes of cargo and 624 tonnes of mail which is an increase by nine percent in cargo and a drop by 31 percent in mail volumes.
On the passenger side, July 2012 proved to be a month of record, with a total of 236,000 passengers handled, an increase by 27 percent, y-o-y.
But most traffic is provided by airlines operating smaller turboprop aircraft with most limited cargo space.
