Aug 31, 2012 (newstodate): Ryanair has announced plans for opening yet another route at Riga Airport, in Latvia.
Effective from November 7, 2012, the carrier will offer two weekly rotations on a new route between Manchester and Riga, increasing the number of destinations served from Riga Airport to 12.
Ryanair first launched business at Riga Airport on October 31, 2004, with flights to London, Tampere and Frankfurt.
In the autumn 2011 a rift developed between Ryanair and Riga Airport over airport charges, with Ryanair threatening to scale down by 30 percent in a protest against the introduction of security charges - but the problems were obviously overcome.
