Aug 13, 2012 (newstodate): The Kazakh carrier Air Astana is now to open the first direct scheduled route between the capitals of Kazakhstan and China.
Effective from August 25, 2012, the carrier will launch flights on the route between Astana and Beijing, offering two weekly rotations with Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
The carrier is already online at Beijing with flights from its economic center at Almaty to Beijing operated five times weekly.
Another destination in China served by Air Astana is Urumqi, in the Xinjiang province, operated since December 2008 with Airbus A320 aircraft.
