Aug 15, 2012 (newstodate): Qatar Airways has now announced plans for the opening of two new destination in Eastern Europa.
Services to the previously announced destination of Belgrade, capital of Serbia, have thus been confirmed, starting from November 20, 2012, with three weekly rotations via Ankara, in Turkey, using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Earlier plans were to launch flights from September with four weekly rotations.
Next to follow is the opening of Airbus A320 flights between Doha and Warsaw, Poland, with four weekly rotations on the route from December 5, 2012.
Qatar Airways thus beats Emirates Airlines that is also planning for opening flights into Warsaw from the Gulf region, with first flight scheduled for February 6, 2013, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route.
Qatar has also said flights to Helsinki Finland is on the table, but no launch date has yet been announced.
