Aug 03, 2012 (newstodate): Emirates has seen strong results also in airfreight from its first year of operations at Copenhagen Airport.
Emirates launched flights on the route between Dubai and Copenhagen from August 1, 2011, starting out with a daily rotation using Airbus A330-200 aircraft, but replacing the Airbus aircraft with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from October 1, 2012.
After one year, the carrier has lifted 2,300 tonnes of cargo from Scandinavia via Dubai to a range of Asian destination, but this total also includes cargo on Emirates SkyCargo's three weekly Boeing 747-400F rotations between Dubai and Gothenburg, in Sweden.
In June 2012, Emirates SkyCargo airfreight exports from Scandinavia totaled 1,439 tonnes including 425 tonnes from Denmark, 453 tonnes from Norway and 561 tonnes from Sweden.
Emirates SkyCargo is represented in the Nordic markets by its cargo GSSA, Scanpartners.
