Aug 08, 2012 (newstodate): One of Russia's largest international air cargo complexes, Domodedovo Cargo's total 13,440 sq m warehouse area has a handling of up to 600 tonnes of cargo per day - 10 times more than the average capacity of cargo terminals of the majority of Russia's airports.
To bolster its position, Domodedovo Cargo is working on a broad range of projects including the construction of new warehouses with a total area of 12,000 sq m, expandable to 16,000 sq m.
The company is also working on the implementation of RFID of objects during cargo handling, increased handling of palletized cargo, creation of new transport and logistics chains for cargo dispatch and development of in-house freighting sales network.
Other projects include the development of the company's information systems to optimize the utilization of resources, development of interactive services for airlines, cargo agents, dispatchers/receivers to allow remote registration of traffic documents and monitor cargo handling and order services.
