Aug 07, 2012 (newstodate): The Faroe Island needs to construct a new passenger terminal at Vagar Airport, and the first stage in the tender process has now ended.
Five companies were invited to participate - and bids span from DKK 125,640,096 to DKK 160,895,014, compared to the project estimate at DKK 102,000,000.
-The lowest bid was thus DKK 22 mio above our estimate, says Jakup Sverri Kass, Vagar Airport CEO since April 10, 2012.
-This may, however, not in itself necessarily be a problem, but we will now consult with our advisers and the company that designed our new terminal to look closely into the bids on the table and consider our next step, says Mr Kass.
Based on these consultations, the Board will meet next week to decide on the issues.
