Aug 15, 2012 (newstodate): Turkmenistan is amidst a comprehensive modernization of its airport and aviation infrastructure.
Part of these efforts is the development of the Dashoguz Airport, in the northern part of Turkmenistan.
Plans are on the table for expansion of the airport's 2,800m runway by a further 1,000m, construction of new taxiways, a new apron, a new ATC tower and ATC systems, new technical buildings and other infrastructure and equipment.
The only operator so far at the airport is Turkmenistan Airline flying to the country's capital Ashgabat.
Participating in the airport's project work is the Turkish company Belda Construction
