Jul 31, 2012 (newstodate): Swissport has landed its third airline contract on cargo handling in the Danish market.
Effective from August 1, 2012, Iceland Express is moving its cargo handling from Spirit Air Cargo Handling at Copenhagen Airport to Swissport, joining as the third airline customer after launch customers SWISS and Virgin Atlantic Cargo.
Spirit Air Cargo Handling will, however, continue to handle Iceland Express at Denmark's second-largest airport, Billund Airport in Jutland.
Headed by Morten Lihme, Swissport's cargo handling facility at Copenhagen Airport started its operations on July 1, 2012, as the handling company's first cargo station in the Nordic market.
