Jul 23, 2012 (newstodate): Some of the magic powder may have fallen off the wings of Russia's new commercial jet aircraft, the Sukhoi Superjet 100.
The Armenian carrier Armavia that was first to take delivery of the Superjet 100 in April 2011 has repeatedly postponed the delivery of the second aircraft ordered.
And now a decision has reportedly been made to cancel the delivery of this aircraft due this summer as Armavia will opt for an Airbus or Boeing fleet of aircraft instead.
According to other media reports, Aeroflot is also having problems with its fleet of Superjet 100, as four out of eight aircraft are kept on ground due to unsolved technical problems.
Aeroflot has placed firm orders for delivery of 30 Superjet 100 aircraft.
So far, Sukhoi has booked a total of 246 orders for the Superjet 100.
