Jul 26, 2012 (newstodate): Given the impact of ISAF flights at Latvia's Riga Airport since early this year, the airport's impressive growth in volumes during H1 was little surprising.
A total of 17,416 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, an increase by 194.7 percent.
"Other airlines", primarily National Air Cargo and Kalitta Air operating the ISAF project, accounted for 11,344 tonnes, or 65 percent of the total volumes handled.
Leading the market before the ISAF operations, airBaltic, now #2 in the airport, handled 3,665 tonnes during the period
