Jul 23, 2012 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is seeing its future with an all-Bombardier fleet.
At the recent Farnborough Airshow, airBaltic signed a LoI with Bombardier for delivery of 10 CS300 aircraft and purchase rights for a further 10 CS300 aircraft.
The new fleet of medium-range aircraft to be delivered from 2015 and replacing the Boeing 737-300 and 737-500 aircraft will complement the carrier's existing fleet of eight Bombardier Q400 aircraft used on regional routes.
Earlier, expectations were that the choice would eventually be between the Boeing 737-700 or the Airbus A319 aircraft.
airBaltic also holds options for a further five Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
