Jul 30, 2012 (newstodate): The latest CASS statistics for the Swedish airfreight market paint a bleak picture of the situation.
In June 2012, a total of 7,542 tonnes of IATA cargo was exported from Sweden, which was a drop by 47 percent, y-o-y.
While the Swedish market is indeed in a negative growth, the picture painted is however strongly influenced by the fact that July 2011 was marked by unusual high airfreight loads of iron powder, exported by Hoganes and carried by several of the leading carriers.
In June 2012, SAS Cargo topped the list with 1,151 tonnes, followed by Lufthansa Cargo 854 tonnes, KLM Cargo 590 tonnes, Finnair Cargo 590 tonnes, and Emirates 561 tonnes.
All top-10 carriers in the statistics were noted by negative growth in June in the Swedish IATA market.
