Jul 23, 2012 (newstodate): Virgin Atlantic is reportedly mulling plans for launch of flights to Russia.
Long rumored, the flights may become possible after the merger between British Airways and British Midland that may free up to 12 slots on the coveted route between London and Moscow.
If plans materialize, flights by Virgin Atlantic between London Heathrow and Moscow Domodedovo Airport may start from summer 2013, sources say.
BA was the only UK carrier to offer scheduled flights on the route until 2006 when British Midlands joined as the second UK provider.
