Jun 22, 2012 (newstodate): Russia's aircraft manufacturer Beriev has made a rare break-through in to the US market.
An American company has signed up to buy ten Beriev Be-200 amphibian aircraft, to be used in forest fire-fighting operations.
The aircraft has been demonstrated for a US delegation in Russia, and has the capacity to suck in 12,000 tonnes of water to be spayed on forests and other areas hit by fires.
