Jun 27, 2012 (newstodate): From July 1, 2012, Post Sweden is adjusting its transport policy shifting some volumes from air to rail transportation.
This has, however, little bearing on Amapola that performs mail flights for Post Sweden with a fleet of 12 Fokker 50 aircraft.
-Some routes are laid down, and the network has been adjusted, and this has implications for some airports, like Jonkoping Airport that has served since 2007 as a postal mini-hub with five weekly night operations between Jonkoping Airport and Gothenburg, Malmoe, Sundsvall, Umeaa and Arlanda by Amapola and West Atlantic, says Lars Jordahn, Amapola CEO.
-Apart from this, there are no major changes for us after July 1, 2012. Most of our traffic is still generated in the Swedish market, primarily for Post Sweden.
-After the demise of Skyways we are now setting up our own technical organization, based in Malmo Sturup Airport from July 1, 2012. Until now we bought our technical support from Skyways, says Mr Jordahn.
