Jun 08, 2012 (newstodate): All through 2012, IATA export cargo volumes have been consistently down in Denmark. But that may not be the whole story..
-Actually, total cargo volumes handled by Spirit in Denmark have been above budget, which would mean some 5-10 percent higher than planned, says Carsten Johansson, Spirit Air Cargo Handling managing director.
-If is a fact that over-all IATA export volumes are down in 2012, but on the other hand we are seeing a rise in both import and export volumes, and the volume of transit and transfer cargo through our terminal has certainly risen.
-For us, the move of cargo handling activities from the eastern premises to the new terminal at the airport has proved a success and only the move of one activity, mail handling at Terminal 1, is still pending. This will, however, be completed immediately after summer, says Mr Johansson.
