Jun 21, 2012 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero has confirmed its intentions of becoming the first airline in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe to operate the Airbus A380 aircraft.
The carrier has thus now completed the purchase agreement for deliver of four A380 aircraft that will be placed to serve Transaero's route from Moscow Domodedovo Airport to international destinations.
The purchase order follows the MoU signed in October 2011, and the deal will be financed with the support of VEB Leasing.
Including the order for four A380 from Transaero, the total A380 order book now stands at 257 aircraft from 20 customers worldwide, and so far Airbus has delivered 77 aircraft to eight customers.
