Jun 07, 2012 (newstodate): The Lithuanian aviation services provider Interekspresas has won a tender by the global aircraft fueling company World Fuel Services.
WFS has contracted Interekspresas to provide refueling of aircraft at Lithuania's Siaulai Airport which may be required when airlines use the airport as an alternative when other airports close down under adverse conditions.
The contract will concern aircraft from a range of airlines including Turkish Airlines, Wizzair Hungary, Wizzair Ukraine.
But due to a very extraordinary situation around Siauliai Airport reportedly deep into a conflict around allegations of certain illegal business transactions and political issues, Interekspresas is not in a position to deal directly with the airport as for payments for fueling services ordered and rendered.
Instead, Interekspresas is forced to deal with Siauliai Airport through its partner, Rudenta that will settle the payments between the airlines and the airport.
Confusing? Well...
