Jun 15, 2012 (newstodate): The Polish charter carrier Air Poland seems to have been saved on the brink of bankruptcy.
The carrier has reportedly secured a new investor, Dariusz Paszke who has acquired the controlling stake in the carrier from its former owner, Swiss Capital Holding that itself only acquired the stake in February 2012.
The carrier, set up in February 2007 and based at Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport, has been operating two Boeing 737-800 that have, however, now been handed back to the leasing company, and the revived Air Poland plans instead to acquire two Boeing 737-400 aircraft, aiming at re-launching operations by the second half of 2012.
