Jun 25, 2012 (newstodate): As most other Nordic markets, Finland too is seeing its air cargo volumes down in 2012.
-The Finnair market has indeed been slowing down in 2012, but not that badly, says Mika Seppaelae, Lufthansa Cargo Finland sales manager.
-Actually, the changes in the market have been reflecting the general downward trends seen in the global economy, with no exclusively Finnish deviation from the over-all picture. So even if volumes are down, I do not consider it to be too depressing - it could have been much worse than is actually the case. And we have actually been able to grow our share of the market over the last few months.
-Now the slack summer season is fast approaching and we will have to wait until traffic picks up again in the autumn to make any predictions about this year's performance. Lufthansa Cargo will be marketing our new emergency.solutions and courier product in Finland from this autumn and this may also generate new business for us. I remain rather optimistic, says Mr Seppaelae.
