Jun 15, 2012 (newstodate): Sweden's Jonkoping Airport has prepared Swedish delicacies and spelmann music to greet passengers on the first seasonal German charter arrival on June 16, 2012.
In 2012, Lufthansa will offer a total of 10 seasonal flights using Boeing 737 from Hamburg, continuing a service introduced in 2006.
On the darker side, activities by Post Sweden using Jonkoping Airport as a "mini-hub" since 2007 with five weekly night operations between Jonkoping Airport and Gothenburg, Malmoe, Sundsvall, Umeaa and Arlanda by Amapola and West Atlantic, will come to an end from July 1, 2012, leaving only the postal flight between Jonkoping Airport and Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
So far, about half of the cargo volumes at the airport, 1,455 tonnes and increasing by 17 percent, y-o-y, during this year's Q1, has been mail that, however dropped five percent during Q1, while air cargo, primarily generated by TNT traffic, was up by 33 percent, y-o-y.
