Jun 26, 2012 (newstodate): Finland is seeing an increase in airfreight volumes at airports managed by Finavia.
In January-May 2012, a total of 83,210 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airports, an increase by 8.3 percent, y-o-y.
80,196 tonnes of the total volumes of cargo and mail were international shipments that increased by 7.9 percent, y-o-y.
Domestic cargo and mail accounted for 2,924 tonnes which was 17.8 percent, y-o-y.
At the capital airport of Helsinki Vanta, total airfreight volumes were 78,528 tonnes in January-May 2012, an increase by 8.4 percent, y-o-y, including 77,080 tonnes of international airfreight, up 8.1 percent, and 1,l448 tonnes of domestic airfreight that increased by 26.5 percent, y-o-y.
