Jun 04, 2012 (newstodate): So far into 2012, Estonian cargo GSSA AirProxy is satisfied with its business development.
-Actually, 2012 look quite OK for us, and actually our performance is even somewhat above last year, says Maanus Matlik, AirProxy managing director.
-The first quarter was on a level with Q1 in 2011, May was a bit disappointing while Q2 again saw an increase in volumes.
-Our office in Riga is especially happy with Lufthansa's twice-daily service with larger aircraft which provides a significant cargo capacity in the market.
-In Estonia, export of electronics is a dominating segment. On the other hand we are seeing a trend towards shift from air to sea transportation in this segment, too, and in the longer perspective airfreight may lose some of its importance.
-Luckily, we were not in a process of expansion with new offices as the crisis hit so we were not overly hit by its effects. Now as things improve we are again looking around, keeping our eyes open for opportunities, says Mr Matlik.
AirProxy has offices in Tallinn, Estonia, and Riga, Latvia, serving a portfolio of customers including SAS Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo, Singapore Airlines Cargo, CSA Cargo and Coyne Airways.
