May 2, 2012 (newstodate): Long rumored in the market, the Swiss handling company Swissport is now announcing its launch of business at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport.
Services will start from July 1, 2012, with Swiss World Cargo as the launch customer.
Copenhagen Airport will become Swissport's first cargo station in the
Nordics, offering the full range of cargo handling services in Denmark, and Swissport is also looking to expand further in the region.
Swissport says it has already signed a number of contracts with other airlines to begin cargo handling at Copenhagen Airport during the second half of 2012.
Effective from December 1, 2011, Swissport set up Helsinki Vantaa Airport as a new base with Finnair as its launch customer and providing baggage and apron services under a five-year contract.
