May 21, 2012 (newstodate): The Russian regional jet aircraft, Sukhoi Superjet 100 received a strong blow in confidence after the recent crash in Indonesia, but good news is coming in, too.
According to press reports, the Superjet launch customer in Latin America, the Mexican low-cost carrier Interjet is prepared to increase its order portfolio for the aircraft.
The carrier signed a contract with Superjet in January 2011 for delivery of 15 aircraft, and is reportedly now interested in activating its options for a further 20 Superjet 100.
The first delivery to Interjet is expected by late 2012.
In the meantime, Aeroflot is taking in its 8th Superjet 100 aircraft that will start operations from May 23, 2012.
