May 31, 2012 (newstodate): AirBridgeCargo, member of Russia's Volga-Dnepr Group, has now taken delivery of its second ex-factory Boeing 747-8 freighter aircraft.
The carrier has placed orders for delivery of a total of three freighters, with the third to join the fleet by September 2012, and ABC also holds options for a further five Boeing 747-8F aircraft.
AirBridgeCargo currently operates eight Boeing 747-400F in addition to the now two Boeing 747-8F aircraft.
The carrier recently phased out its last two Boeing 747-200 freighter aircraft, having also retired its sole remaining B747-300 freighter, and building its future on the new more efficient and fuel-saving versions of the Boeing 747 aircraft family.
