May 1, 2012 (newstodate): The Faroe Islands' Vagar Airport is seeing its cargo volumes rising in 2012.
In the first three months of 2012, the airport has seen a total of 89,9 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 142 percent, y-o-y.
Cargo volumes however dipped by 14.1 percent, y-o-y, to 59 tonnes.
With the entry into service of Atlantic Airways' new Airbus A319 from March 2012, the airport is expecting a significant increase also in cargo volumes on the route between the Faroe Islands and Copenhagen Airport, in Denmark.
