May 18, 2012 (newstodate): Starting from June 1, 2012, Worldwide Flight Services is launching independent air cargo handling operations at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, as earlier reported by newstodate.
The operation will be located at the former 3,000 sq m A.S.P Logistics terminal opened in October 2009.
Heading the new operation will be Martijn de Regt, who was also head of A.S.P Logistics operations.
The new WFS station will be connected to, and fully integrated with, the WFS road feeder network that links all WFS European stations.
Martijn de Regt will refer to WFS General Manager for Scandinavia, Thomas Petersen, based at WFS's first Scandinavian terminal at Copenhagen Airport opened in 2006 and now handling about 70,000 tonnes of flown and trucked cargo annually in Denmark for over 50 airline customers.
WFS terms the expansion into Stockholm Arlanda Airport the "next step" in Scandinavia, indicating prospects for further openings.
