May 30, 2012 (newstodate): Norway's successful LCC Norwegian is expanding its orders for Boeing 787 aircraft, despite struggles with pilot unions dissatisfied with the decision to base the future long-haul operations with a Bangkok-based subsidiary.
Latest news is the decision to order a further two Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on leasing contracts from IFLC.
The earlier placed orders for three Boeing 787-8, and has now signed lease contracts for a total of five aircraft with first delivery expected by early 2013.
The carrier will operate flights from Norway to destinations including New York and Bangkok.
