May 3, 2012 (newstodate): Only few days after the latest board meeting, Danish charter and scheduled carrier Cimber Sterling has today stopped all flight operations and filed for bankruptcy.
Saving the carrier from bankruptcy in 2011, the Cyprus-based investment company Mansvell's Ukrainean owner Igor Kolomoyski stepped in to buy 70 percent of shares, later increasing his investment in the carrier - but to no avail.
Among the customers hit by the demise of Cimber Sterling is SAS that has contracted the carrier to operate its CRJ-200 aircraft on routes to several destinations.
