May 10, 2012 (newstodate): Despite several new airlines opening flights into Serbia's Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, cargo volumes are still low - and even decreasing in 2012.
In the first four months of 2012, a total of 2,182 tonnes of cargo was handled at Belgrade Airport, a drop by four percent, y-o-y.
Mail volumes handled, 330 tonnes, were also down by three percent.
After two initial months of cargo growth, volumes fell again in March and April 2012, by seven and 25 percent, y-o-y, respectively, while mail volumes actually performed better in March and April, albeit growing only by two and one percent, respectively.
