Apr 10, 2012 (newstodate): Sweden's Jonkoping Airport reports a sustained growth in cargo volumes through this year's first quarter.
During January-March 2012, the airport handled a total of 1,455 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by 17 percent, y-o-y.
While mail volumes declined by five percent during the period, air cargo volumes on the other hand grew by 33 percent, y-o-y.
Since 2007, Jonkoping serves as Post Sweden Logistics' mini-hub, with postal flights by aircraft from Amapola and West Atlantic operating five weekly night operations between Jonkoping Airport and Gothenburg, Malmoe, Sundsvall, Umeaa and Arlanda.
On the air cargo side, Jonkoping Airport has been boosted in volumes by TNT Sweden that established its regional hub at Jonkoping Airport from June 2, 2008.
