Apr 13, 2012 (newstodate): The new Polish carrier Bingo Airways will reportedly take to the skies on April 27, 2012, on its first commercial flight.
From the start, the carrier will operate three Airbus A320 aircraft, one of which is already in the fleet with the second to be leased from Aviation Partners and delivered shortly. No details are yet available on the third Airbus A320 aircraft
Bingo Airways will operate from Warsaw Chopin Airport and Katowice.
The carrier will be operating for Polish tour operators on flights to tourist destinations including Antalya and Bodrum, Enfidha, Hurghada, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Marsa Alam, and Rhodes.
Also part of the business plan is ACMI.
Bingo Airways is now awaiting its AOC and the certificate to start flight operations, while the process of hiring cockpit and cabin crews is still going on.
Among the owners of the new carrier is Luxembourg-based Travel Holding International, and the CEO and founder of Bingo Airways is Marek Sidor, formerly serving as Malev COO as well as holding earlier positions with EuroLOT and LOT.
