Apr 23, 2012 (newstodate): Singapore Airlines Cargo will add more destinations to its network through an agreement with fledgling carrier Scoot to manage its belly-hold capacity.
Panning to launch operations in June 2012, the new medium and long haul low-cost airline based in Singapore will be operating daily services between Singapore and Sydney, and five-times-weekly services between Singapore and the Gold Coast in Australia.
Further down the line, Scott will add four-times-weekly services to Tianjin in China from the second half of 2012.
-Increased capacity by Singapore Airlines Cargo to Australia will definitely have a positive impact in the Nordic markets, says Kim Irmov, Singapore Airlines Cargo regional manager Nordic and Baltic region.
-Export-wise, Australia is among the most significant markets for exporters in the Nordic region, and in today's situation we often hit the ceiling as to capacity to this high-yield cargo market.
