Apr 11, 2012 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero has reportedly acquired all shares in Air Atlanta Aero Engineering, at Dublin in Ireland.
If carried through, this will be the first acquisition by a Russian group of an aircraft maintenance base outside Russia.
In February 2004, Air Atlanta Icelandic acquired Shannon MRO from UPS, re-branding the facility to Air Atlanta Aero Engineering.
Under this ownership, the activities were expanded with Boeing 757, Boeing 767 and Boeing 737NG capabilities in addition to the existing Boeing 727 and Boeing 737CL certificates.
