Apr 17, 2012 (newstodate): The Danish carrier and ACMI provider DAT Group's latest new subsidiary in Lithuania, DAT Lite is soon to get airborne.
-We are currently in the process of obtaining our AOC after having completed all the technical audits, says Albertas Pocevicius, DAT Lite general manager and 15 percent owner of DAT Lite.
-The process has been running slower than expected, but we are at least in the very final stages now.
-While we are still waiting, we are already engaged in talks with various potential customers, and I expect our first aircraft to operate not in the Baltics, but rather on a contract in Africa.
-Our business will be primarily in the ACMI, targeting industries like oil and minerals that need own fast means of transportation, says Mr Pocevicius.
DAT Lite, to be based at Vilnius Airport, will build a fleet of smaller Beechcraft aircraft, aiming at a fleet of three aircraft in 2012.
