Apr 10, 2012 (newstodate): Russia is to open up another Siberian airport for international traffic.
Serving Novokuznetsk in Siberia's Kemerovo Region, Spichenkovo Airport has two runways at 2,680 and 2,000 m, respectively, and is today operating only flights by S7 Airlines and Ural Airlines to Moscow.
The airport will now launch a redevelopment project, including the construction of a new passenger terminal and other infrastructure.
In 2011 the airport handled a total of 126,000 passengers.
